Co-Location and Network Provider GNAX / AtlantaNAP Announces New Metro Network Upgrade to Level3
February 6, 2009
ATLANTA February 6, 2009 Global Net Access, LLC (GNAX), owner of Atlanta NAP and NetDepot, announced completion of its Level3 circuit upgrade from a 1 gig circuit to a 10 ( ten ) gig circuit. The company is a leading provider of co-location in the Southeast U.S and one of the leading providers of outsourced managed and unmanaged servers in the world According to Jeff Hinkle, President of GNAX, the upgrade is “significant for disaster planning for GNAX customers since it was implemented as a different Level3 location than the current gig connection.” GNAX acquired another dark fiber pair from AGL Networks of Atlanta and worked with the engineering team to engineer a solution that traverses a different path than GNAX’s current fiber to its providers . “The new path completely avoids Telx at 56 Marietta Street, which is the current termination point of the GNAX metro Ethernet networks”, Hinkle said. “The new fiber terminates at Level3’s 345 Courtland Street facility and gives GNAX both increased redundancy and capacity. This is unique to most of the data centers in the region– especially in the city of Atlanta. Many have a ring or multiple paths – but like we were constructed in the past – they all come back to one single point of failure facility.” The upgrade brings the total GNAX backbone capacity to 31 gigs and the total Metro E capacity to 30 gigs, which de-bottle necks any metro e constraints and positions GNAX for continued growth in its Atlanta market. About GNAX / AtlantaNAPWith more than fourteen years in the industry, GNAX and AtlantaNAP are trusted by thousands of customers that span almost every country in the world. It primarily operates out of its sister company AtlantaNAP (www.atlantanap.com) which owns and operates a state of the art data center centrally located in the historic West End area of Atlanta. NetDepot is a premier global brand of dedicated servers operating under the GNAX umbrella of companies. Contact: |
